About

Naomi P. Mabini is an Engineering student who is deeply passionate about sustainable and non-toxic technologies. She loves learning how things work and is currently building her foundation in robotics, geospatial systems, and environmental health.

Through her recent experiences as a GIS Intern with the City of San Diego, a Makerspace Robotics Intern, and conducting water quality research in Mission Bay as a SFF Research Intern (Sustainable Food Futures), she has gained valuable, hands-on practice with spatial data, hardware integration, and field sampling.

As a SDSU STEM Pathways Scholar and a part of the New Buildings Institute (NBI) Next Gen 2026 cohort, Naomi is dedicated to exploring how smart infrastructure can improve human health and the environment. She is eager to keep growing her skills as a student and is looking forward to her planned summer research at the SDSU Energy FANS Lab, where she hopes to continue contributing to healthier, more environmentally friendly solutions.
